So many times we seek to tell somebody else how to live & we don’t look at ourselves. I know this first hand because when I first gave my life to Christ, I wanted to tell everybody how to live, what they were doing wrong and so on and so on. God had to quickly slow me down and get me in order. That’s normal for someone who is truly seeking to live a life for God. It’s a process one must go through, but give it a good 6months to a year and God will tame that person.
I am talking about someone who is running full speed ahead and operating in a spirit that is of God, but they are not trained, tamed, or learned. So they are operating out of order and out of season. We all have gifts and talents, but they have to be raised up to maturity level in order to operate effectively. God might show me that you need to stop sleeping with that man, but he might not be telling me to tell at that time. How do I look telling you that God said you need to stop sleeping with that man when in my heart and mind I have slept with that same man? Hmm……… Now that is a good word.
How do we become tamed, trained, and learned in our gifts? That’s simple. Go and sit under good leadership where he/she will allow you to be used and where they will allow the Holy spirit to guide you. You can’t church hop or don’t go to church at all and say that God is telling you to tell me something when you yourself ain’t following the word of the Lord. The bible tells me “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” (Psalms 133:1) and Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together (Hebrews 10:25).
People tend to get carried away with prophesying and telling others how to live when they witness is greatly affected by their own actions and deeds.
