For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7

God never intended for us to be fearful. In fact he has called us to do great things. He has called us to step into the deep and to expand our God-given gifts and talents. The only thing that holds us back is the way we think about ourselves and our lack of trust for God. Fear comes to cripple us, to paralyze us, alongside with our way of thinking, which is most contrary to the thoughts of God for us and towards us.

Our lack of trust for God makes us fear that God will see us through or that he will make ways, answer prayers, and grant favor. Having lack of trust will make us doubt that we heard God instruct us to step out of the boat.

Sarah doubted God would bless her with a baby after years of waiting and old age had set in. But God still came in her old age and opened her womb. Why, because if he said it then he shall surely bring it to past.

Peter stepped out the boat and in a moment of fear he began to drown but Jesus was there to pick him up. Just because it looks like you are about to drown believe me Jesus is there to pull you up. Peter didn’t stop following the leading of Jesus and don’t you stop either.

There are lessons to be learned and a process you must go through but don’t let fear paralyze you anymore. This is your season to go get it!

Thoughts of A Single Christian Woman

After years of being saved and single it makes one stop and wonder what’s wrong wth me? Going to weddings of friends, praying for those who are in relationships, being the third person on outings with married friends, and just the point of not even being asked out on a date. You get to a place where you throw up your hands in despire. Not to mention the annoyance with leaders who unshamefully purse you only because they want to sleep with you. and no not the type of purse where they ask you out on a date but the kind where they make comments to you on how you look, try and grab your hand, get your number so you can schedule them, but sneak in something slick trying to test the waters, kind of pursing.

It’s almost as though you have a sign on your head that says you are desperate and are willing to take anything at this point. As a woman who knows she is worthy of love it gets hard waiting on God to present you to your husband. I am not a pusher of just dating but can I at least get one date. Being told everything wrong about you and how you are the problem, fasting and praying about it, only to get someone that you are really interested in but they aren’t ready to settle down (eyes roll in the back of my head). After the age of 40 you should be ready to settle down especially if you are in leadership but hey, that’s just my opionion.

There are countless women out here that feel just like this and there are believe it or not countless men who feel the same. While you are waiting on your spouse, it’s really the time to get real close to God. Many times the hold up is that you haven’t cultervated your relationship with God or you have but you aren’t trying to hear him when he shows you your spouse. You want the red package but what you need is in the blue. Let’s continue this discussion in the comment section. I am interested to hear what you all have to say about this subject.
