The Four Power Points to A Boaz Blessing
We are going to study the book of Ruth in a four-week course as we break down these power points. We often times pray and ask God to send our Boaz but we have yet to look in the mirror and ask God to help us to obtain him. We make our list of wants we desire him to have but we lack the essentials we need in order to obtain him. We are a helpmeet and we must meet the qualifications to be an effective helper before God can bless us with that true man of God he has ordained for us to have. We are the rib to his incomplete cage. This means he already meets our needs he just needs us to come and meet his needs. I pray this will help you as you begin to let God prepare you for your true man of God.
- Sanctification: the act or process of acquiring sanctity, of being made or becoming holy.
Chapter 1: We find Ruth a Moabite widowed and childless. After being begged by her mother in-law to return to her country and family, she decided to abandon her country, family and faith to accompany her Naomi, to Bethlehem. She tells Naomi in verses 16-17:
But Ruth replied, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord deal with me, be it ever so severely, if even death separates you and me. (NIV)”
This is where Ruth becomes sanctified, because of her willingness to follow after Naomi and the God that she served. What is your willingness to follow after God? Many of us say we are ready for our Boaz but we are not willing to let go of our family, friends and our own selfish beliefs. Ruth knew her people did not believe in the one true living God but they believed in many Gods. She had a heart for God I am sure after seeing Naomi losing her family members but yet still holding on to God’s unchanging hand. I can imagine Ruth watching Naomi everyday waking up with a song in her heart as Naomi praise the Lord in the middle of a famine, the death of her husband, and sons. She desired to have the joy that she had never experienced going up sacrificing to gods that did nothing for them in a time of trouble.
Matthew 10:37 “Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me;
In order for you to be sanctified unto God then this scripture needs to be embedded into your heart. God comes first no matter what. This is the biggest key in any relationship and most importantly the biggest key in building a relationship with God. Take this first step and become sanctified unto the Lord, Holy and acceptable in His sight.
Next week we will study chapter two power point two: Consecration.
